Taylor Lautner has grown up before our very eyes on screen in the “Twilight” saga movies. He talks to MTV about how his character Jacob also grows up in the latest movie, “Breaking Dawn Part 1.”

“It was really exciting for me, because Jacob in this movie is very different than he ever has been, so I was a little nervous. I was excited,” says Lautner. “Jacob was a challenge in this movie, being pulled in two totally different directions and kind of being the middle man. He has to make a decision: which side are you going to choose?”

The choice he speaks of is, of course, Jacob choosing being loyalty to the wolfpack or helping Bella (Kristen Stewart) and her baby. That kind of mature decision is something he can says he can relate to.

“I don’t think you’ve ever found exactly who you are. I’m always continuing to grow and learn more about myself each and every day, so I can definitely relate to that,” says Lautner.

He also talks to Hollyscoop about how Bella’s wedding and turbulent pregnancy are so emotional for Jacob.

“This was a huge stepping stone for him, he really changes a lot in this one. It’s an emotional rollercoaster for Jacob,” says Lautner.

“Breaking Dawn Part 1″ opens nationwide Friday, Nov. 18.

About a week ago I attended the big Los Angeles press junket for Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. While I already posted the press conferences with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, author Stephenie Meyer, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg & producer Wyck Godfrey, we’ve still got a number of exclusive and group interviews to post over the next few days. And up next, Taylor Lautner.

During the press conference, Lautner talked about making Breaking Dawn, the imprint scene, crazy fan encounters, what will stick with him about playing Jacob, his thoughts on why Jacob can’t let Bella go, future projects, and if he’s bummed that after gunning after Bella for all this time, Edward gets a hot vampire bride and he gets a baby. Lautner talked to Parade.com about saying farewell to the Twilight franchise, and why he couldn’t wait to call it a wrap on his final shirtless scene. Caution: Some spoilers ahead!

Why Jacob will always stay with him.
“He’s come a long way and he takes a huge step in this film. He really grows up a lot and he has to make some tough choices. I don’t know if I could fill Jacob’s shoes. When he’s in a tough spot, sometimes he doesn’t handle it so well, but I feel for him because I don’t know how I would handle it. But while I’ve loved playing him and appreciate all the attention I’ve gotten, I’m the same person I always have been.”

“Twilight” heartthrob Taylor Lautner stops by “The Today Show” Wednesday morning (Nov. 9) to chat with the hosts about “Breaking Dawn Part 1,” which opens nationwide next week. He makes sure to tell everyone how he’s not as shirtless in this installment of the series.

“I was lucky in this one, because I am shirtless much less than Rob and Kristen,” says Lautner, of his co-stars.

He also says the movie and his character, “I’m excited for it, I can’t believe it is here … This is my favorite movie because it’s different than any of the other ones, in tone, it’s more mature. My character grows up in this one. He’s dealing with a lot.”

He also comments about the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars the “Twilight” trio recently received, “I couldn’t believe it, it was one of the most surreal experiences … I can’t even explain how fortunate we are, it was insane.”

“Breaking Dawn Part 1″ hits theaters nationwide Friday, Nov. 18.
